Morgan Hill, CA — In order to make the World's First Manual C8 Corvette a reality, top Formula Drift driver Matt Field needed a transaxle that fit some exacting requirements. The versatile Weddle S5 Sequential fit the bill.

Due to space constraints, Matt needed certain dimensions and specs of the C8 corvette’s replacement gearbox to be very close to the OE supplied unit. The C8 build required a short distance between the the centerline of the CV joints and the back of the block as well as an input shaft located below the CV joint centerline.
Perfect fit. The versatile Weddle S5 can be run mid-engine and inverted, making it a perfect solution for the C8 Corvette build. A Weddle Industries VW-style Bell Housing with side-positioned starter mount enabled this configuration to be possible. The inverted trans position, bell housing with side-mount starter, and an adapter plate made mounting the Weddle S5 to the LS V8 block a snap. Weddle Industries shared CAD models and an S5 mock up with Matt and his team to solve mounting issues and ensure the Weddle S5's fit was flawless.
