Chippenham, England — After a string of demos around the world, Matt Field came home from the LZ World Tour event at Castle Comb Circuit in Chippenham, England with a win under his belt. It was Matt's first time competing in his Weddle S5-equipped C8 Corvette Drift Car.

After Matt and the Drift Cave team completed the miracle makeover of a water-logged salvage, the C8 made its debut at SEMA 2024. For the build, Matt required a gearbox that could withstand LS power, 1000 hp clutch kicks and handbrake dumps at 9000 rpm. Enter the versatile Weddle S5, a sequential powerhouse that can be run mid-engine, making it a perfect solution for the C8 build.
Matt and his C8 spent 2025 lighting up asphalt with demos across North America. This year, Matt and his team crossed the pond, and continued to wow crowds at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and European events. Matt was elated with the result in his first competition behind the wheel of the C8.
