Dayton, NV — The Casey Folks Vegas to Reno stands out on the BITD calendar. Dubbed “The Longest Off-Road Race in the United States”, the V2R is a brutal point-to-point marathon through the midsummer heat of the Nevada desert. The long format allows competitors to chip away at race leaders. This makes minimizing mechanical issues and consistency key factors to success. Race teams start off route 95 just northwest of Las Vegas in Bonnie Claire and finish over 500 miles north in Dayton.
Weddle-equipped teams follow the V2R formula to four class wins. James Dean powered the long haul to Reno driving Albins AGB-equipped 1575 to take Class 1500 first. Matt Rusich earned the Class 10 win piloting Weddle S5-equipped 1045. 7209 Jeff Proctor claimed the top spot on the Class 7200 podium in the Albins ST6-equipped Honda Ridgeline and Nick Carolan took Class 6200 win in Albins AGB-equipped 6201.
The BITD season is heading into the home stretch with the Laughlin Desert Challenge next on the calendar. Good luck to al the race teams!
