Barstow, California — On the weekend of July 26th, hundreds braved the blistering 100F+ degree Barstow desert heat for this year's MORE Freedom 250. Eighty-five racers signed up to do battle on the 57 mile loop starting and finishing at Outlet Center Drive.
Dominating the Unlimited Class was the ID Designs-built number 79 Hardin Racing Trophy Truck driven by Eric Hardin. Just days before, the Albins ST6-i equipped Hardin Truck was fitted with a new beefier ST6 input shaft and torque converter upgrade that had to be hand-delivered from the Albins Factory in Australia to make it in time for the race. The new input shaft might have brought some luck with it. On the shaft's first test in an off-road race, Team Hardin snagged the top spot on the podium to finish first place overall.
It was also a great race for Andy Marsoun in Class 10. Marsoun, in the Weddle HV1 equipped RaceCo car 1036, finished on the podium with a Class 10 third place.
Big congrats to Eric Hardin, ID-Designs, Andy Marsoun and all the finishers of this year's Freedom 250.
