Maximum strength. Weddle Industries is working to bring the Extreme Duty Case (XDC) for the MD series of transaxles back into production. This case has been completely redesigned with maximum strength in mind. Extra ribs have been added, and the walls of the housing have been significantly thickened in all areas. Each case is cast from virgin A356 aluminum, heat treated to T6 condition, and stainless shot blasted to eliminate potential stress risers.

The pinion bearing carrier has been upgraded to allow more oil flow, and is now heat treated to help resist “mushrooming” around the large pinion bearing cup. While working to bring this case into production, we have also been increasing batch sizes to help reduce manufacturing costs. Now we’re passing the savings along to our customers, as reflected in the new pricing below.
