Las Vegas, Nevada — The 2010 edition of Best in the Desert's Vegas to Reno race was a good one for Weddle Industries. Unlimited Class racers supplied by Weddle Industries accounted for 7 of the top 10 finishing positions in Class 15, including the top spot! Chris Kemp had a flawless run in his Champion Series Jimco to take first in class and 2nd overall. Chris runs an Albins sequential transaxle and had just switched from a clutch to the Albins torque converter package.
Top finishers in Class 1500 include:
• 1st place, Chris Kemp, Albins Sequential w/ Albins torque converter.
• 3rd place, T.J. Flores, Albins Sequential 5-speed.
• 4th place, Chris and Steve Appleton, Albins Sequential 5-speed.
• 7th place, Pat Dean, Albins Sequential 5-speed.
• 8th place, Adam Householder, Albins High-shift w/ Albins torque converter.
• 9th place, Chuck Hovey, Mendeola S4D, gears and R&P by Weddle.
• 10th place, Sean Mecham, Albins Sequential w/ Albins torque converter.
The top cars in Class 1000 and Class 1100 also had Weddle Industries transaxle components. Class 1000 winner Chad Giguiere, runner up Brian Potts/Chad Cummings, and Class 1100 winner Lee Banning all run Mendeola MD5 transaxles with gears supplied by Weddle Industries. Also completing all 500-plus miles of Vegas to Reno were 5 Wide Open Motorsports cars prepared by Off Track Nevada. All 5 were running the Weddle HV1 transaxle, the first transaxle designed completely in-house by Weddle Industries.
