Finishing Strong at the Henderson 250

Henderson, Nevada — With season championships on the line, the 2015 Henderson 250 was more than just the last race of the BITD season. Despite early morning temps into the 20s before the start of the first races, a record 217 entries made the Henderson 250 season a chilly but exciting spectacle.

Class 1500 looked strong during Thursday's qualifying in Jean, NV. After battling the clock on the three mile course, Trick Truck driver Josh Daniels qualified on top with the best time, but the 1500 cars were close behind. Of the top 10 positions off the starting line, 5 were filled by Class 1500 drivers.

Class 1500 bragging rights were on the line in Saturday’s third and final race. 1532 Cody Parkhouse and Stronghold Motorsports driver Scott Bailey in car 1529 both came to Henderson with solid finishes this season. When the dust settled, it was Scott Bailey in the Albins AGB equipped MavTV car 1529 who took the top spot on the 1500 podium (finishing 5th place over all) with the time of 4:07:59.871. Just over a minute behind Bailey, Tod Tuls grabbed second in car 1599. Sam and Mike Baldi took the third spot in car 1542. CJ Hutchins grabbed 4th in class in car 1527. Over all, Albins AGB equipped cars took 4 out of the top 5 spots in Class 1500. Unfortunately, Cody Parkhouse had a rough day at Henderson. It was reported that he broke a hub at mile 27 and was unable to finish the race. None-the-less, Parkhouse ended the season with enough points to take the 2015 BITD Series Class 1500 Championship in his AGB equipped car 1532.

There was more great news for Albins gearboxes at Henderson. Kovach Motorsports in Albins ST6 equipped truck 7207 finished 2nd in class with a time of 4:56:51.505. The finish cemented the 2015 Class 7200 Season Championship for the Kovach team. Over all, it was a great way to end the BITD season. Congratulations to all of the finishers at Henderson. See you for the 2016 kick off in Parker.
