Joe David and Weddle Industries make it three in a row at the Midnight Special

Jean, NV – SNORE created the Midnight Special to fill a gap in the season schedule and give racers a break from the brutal midsummer heat of Southern Nevada. Typically, the Midnight Special starts around dusk. This format presents teams with new challenges. Drivers not only have to contend with racing at high-speeds in the pitch black of the desert, but spot the creatures that come out after dark.

The Midnight Special has had many locations since it first began including Primm, Nevada and Ridgecrest, California. This year the KC HiLites Midnight Special was back in Jean, Nevada over August 4-6 for the annual race.

On a roll in Class 1. The Midnight Special was another great race for Class 1 driver Joe David. After racking up wins at the Motion Tire 300 and the Knotty Pines 250, David took home his third straight SNORE Class 1 win in Albins AGB-equipped car 152.

The Midnight Special made it three in a row in Class 1 for Weddle-equipped cars as well. With David taking the win, Pat Dean placed second in Albins AGB-equipped car 176 and Keith Waibel took third in Mendeola S5-equipped car 172 to make it three straight SNORE Class 1 podium sweeps. A big congrats to all the finishers at this year’s Midnight Special.
